SolidWorks Training
We had been using AutoCAD for over 5 years but many of our customers were sending us complicated 3D models in SolidWorks. We contacted Hawk Ridge to purchase 5 seats. The sales and implementation process could not have been better. Now we receive “free” tips and trainings with other users in our area. Talk about added value!!

Training Courses: SolidWorks Flow Simulation Electronics Cooling

Hawk Ridge Systems provides a choice of 3 supplementary online courses that provide instruction in the use of the SolidWorks Flow Simulation fluid dynamics analysis software in advanced industry-specific areas. These 2-hour online classes utilize the latest in web training technology to build on the core analysis skills covered in the SolidWorks Flow Simulation 1-day class.

This course addresses the capabilities of Flow Simulation that are specific to the analysis of electronic and electric cooling systems. The majority of the class covers capabilities available in every license of SolidWorks Flow Simulation, but select topics below require the SolidWorks Flow Simulation Electronics Cooling (EC) Add-on module.

Class Duration: 2 Hour Internet Course

Recommended Pre-Requisites:

  • 1 –Day SolidWorks Flow Simulation training class

Main Topics Covered:

  • Analyzing cooling in a electronics/electric model
  • Thermal Contact Resistance and Orthotropic Material Definitions (PCBs)
  • Application of fan, heat sink and TEC models to an analysis system
  • Using transferred boundary conditions to “zoom in” and analyze a detailed region of a system
  • Use of heat pipes, PCB calculators, 2-Resistor Component models and Joule heating (requires EC module)
